Dubai is kick-starting 2020 with brand new hotel projects all set to open doors in the meantime. Among them, there is an array of luxury hotels, complete with a range of exciting dining concepts, pool facilities and amazing citywide views.
Occupying six floors of the Opus Building, the ME Dubai is the only project where the late Zaha Hadid designed all of the interiors and exteriors. The hotel will consist of 93 rooms and suites, as well as 96 serviced apartments. The crown-jewel is set to be the luxurious “Suite Me”, that will be as big as 200 square meters. Inside the hotel, there will also be a third branch of The Maine, as well as the Japanese robatayaki restaurant ROKA, and the Refuel & Relax pool bar. This amazing hotel is opening doors in March 2020.
Opening this Spring, the Sofitel Dubai Wafi will have 595 rooms, becoming the largest Sofitel hotel in the Middle East, with an inclusive set of 97 luxury serviced apartments. The hotel plans to open an Asian restaurant – Taiko – which curiously was made in Amsterdam by the chef Schilo van Coevorden, a British gastropub The Nine, a modern brasserie at the helm of a French chef, and a French patisserie in the lobby and a pool bar.
Set to open in July this year, the first Marriott resort in Dubai will include eight food and beverage outlets – including Korean, Italian, Japanese and Mexican cuisines. It will also have a rooftop bar called ‘Above Eleven’, which will serve Peruvian cuisine, featuring a garden maze at the entrance. All the rooms and suites will come with a private balcony overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
Opening in September 2020, the beachside Hilton Dubai will not only offer amazing ocean views but also will have an exciting selling point – the wide-range offer in food and beverage. Many of the city’s popular haunts will set up shop in the new property – Trader Vic’s, a new concept by McGettigan’s, CLAW BBQ, Jones the Grocer and Barfly.
The Royal Atlantis is set to open in the third quarter of 2020 with 231 luxury apartments, 693 hotel rooms and 102 suites. The 43-storey hotel will also feature 90 swimming pools, including an infinity pool in the rooftop. The hotel will exclusively host restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs such as Gastón Acurio, Costas Spiliadis, Ariana Bundy, Heston Blumenthal and Jose Andres.
Also opening on the third quarter of the year, the five-star SLS Dubai Hotel will be one of the tallest hotels in the city, having 254 hotel rooms, 371 residential units and 321 hotel apartments. Concerning food, the guests will be able to choose between the Italian restaurant Fi’lia and Carna, an award-winning steakhouse. The hotel will also offer a floor designated just for relaxation – the Ciel Spa will have 7 treatment rooms, steam rooms, experience showers, plunge pools, a salon and gym.
The Palm will open in the fourth quarter of the year, having 289 rooms and 504 luxury apartments. The hotel will also have a sky pool and the famed SUSHISAMBA restaurant will serve a mix of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine.
This hotel will be located in Business Bay and is set to be the most modern Dorchester property. The futuristic design has two Tetris-styled towers, a residential section with 39 apartments and a large rooftop pool.
The Legoland Hotel will have 250 Lego-themed rooms, a castle play area and a disco elevator within the resort. It is set to open in the first half of this year.
The second Mandarin Oriental Hotel is set to be located on Sheikh Zayed Road. It will have 257 rooms, suites and serviced apartments. It is said to be designed so it reflects the local culture, featuring also the Mandarin’s Asian heritage. It will include a restaurant and bar with a lively rooftop sky bar, offering citywide views, a signature dining experience, an all-day dining venue, a poolside bar and restaurant, a lobby lounge, a club lounge, a cigar room and a Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop.
This amazing resort will have 217 rooms and suites, having private access to 100 meters of sandy beach, as well as prime views of Ain Dubai. There is also an infinity pool on the rooftop where the two towers meet.
Corinthia Hotel Meydan Beach is set to be the tallest building in Jumeirah Beach Residence. Located next to Rixos Premium, the new property will be home to 360 rooms and suites. There is a multi-level cascading pool area in the centre court of the hotel, which leads to the beach.
Langham Place is Omniyat’s first luxury hotel in the city, offering 167 rooms and a number of serviced residential apartments.
Deira Islands will be home to a beachfront property by the Spanish Chain Hotels – Riu, with 750 rooms, it will be an all-inclusive resort with complete access to the soon-to-open Deira Mall and Deira Islands Night Souk.
