Hotel interior design – 11 Howard breaths Scandinavian style

New York does not only have luxury hotels with fabulous rooftop bars, and lavish condominiums and proof of that is that what Space Copenhagen did with 11 Howard hotel, where was injected a Scandinavian hotel interior design style with luxury plus in the hotel furniture chosen.

11 Howard, a 221-room boutique property in New York City’s fashionable SoHo district, combines cutting-edge Scandinavian furniture with socially conscious design.

More than just an ideal vantage point for downtown exploration, the property is an art spectacle in itself and a community hub partnered with a range of local businesses and nonprofits.

This hotel interior design has taken luxury in a new direction, one that is not only beautiful on the surface, but beautiful deep within the foundations of the brand itself.

A collaboration design between Anda Andrei Design and influential Danish firm Space Copenhagen was beyond the hotel decor, where Space Copenhagen created bespoke contract furniture to complement this Manhattan’s Soho district hotel interior decor.

Add to that world-class food and beverage offerings by famed restaurateur Stephen Starr; a dynamic co-working space, the 11H Collective; collaborations with standout contemporary artists, such as Katie Yang, Dan Attoe, and Hiroshi Sugimoto.

The lobby has a minimalist feel, combining luxurious stones and textures with modern art suspended from the ceiling. The lounge exchanges stones and solid surfaces for softer variations of wood, fabric, and upholstery, creating a moment of calm and relaxation for guests that want to escape the hectic city life.

The restaurant area and bar room with its large arched windows facing out over Howard Street are where we start to see a beautiful boost of colours. Focal points have been created by grouping vibrant colours within the artwork, floral displays and even incorporating into the upholstery of lounge seating as you can see above. These colours, whilst not overpowering, add excitement and personality into an area that is designed to be social and relaxing.

With eleven room options available to guests, there is a size and shape to fit all. Consisting of a separate bedroom with two bathrooms, a living space, a full working kitchen, and dining room, the terrace suite is a luxury home away from home.

The rooms have been inspired by Danish design, emphasizing the quality of product and beauty of natural materials. Soft pink pastels drape the crisp white bedsheets, adding serenity and calmness whilst complimenting the luxury gold accessories and rich blue drapery.

11 Howard hotel has a guiding principle of conscious hospitality. It is fantastic to see a hotel giving back to the neighbourhood and its surroundings. Each aspect of the hotel architecture from the location, amenities, and services have been considered in a wider aspect that benefits more than just the hotel.
