St. Regis Monarch Beach, Los Angeles
The St. Regis Monarch Beach opened its doors on July 30, 2001, featuring Tuscan-inspired architecture designed by Holmes & Narver. In 2015, The St. Regis Monarch Beach turned to Los Angeles-based Rodrigo Vargas Design to begin a $40 million renovation that would reflect the resort’s pristine coastal setting and create an even more beautiful interior design.
The reimagined luxury resort debuted on June 1, 2016 as the Monarch Beach Resort, showcasing a sea-inspired palette of cool blues, greens and crisp whites as well as the first Miraval Life in Balance Spa in California.
For 125 years, this iconic property has represented everything that makes New Orleans one of the world’s greatest destinations. The iconic luxury hotel, opened in 1893, is reminiscent of a bygone era with its tiered crystal chandeliers, gold-gilded pillars and original floor mosaics. The hotel’s legendary Sazerac Bar, located in the lobby, is the birthplace of the cognac-based cocktail, as its name suggests.
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Maui, Hawaii
Built on 15 acres of windswept Hawaiian coastline, the resort is designed in a horseshoe shape to ensure optimal views of the Pacific from almost every suite. Fresh off a multi-million dollar renovation, the luxurious seaside Four Seasons has contemporary new rooms, more private nooks and new Hawaii-inspired art. All 383 rooms and suites – some of the largest on Maui and most with ocean views – received a refresh: cream walls, white and navy accent prints, marble bathrooms with tubs and separate rain showers.
Triple Creek Ranch, Darby, Montana
Right in the rugged heart of the Montana Rockies, secluded, adults-only Triple Creek Ranchis a popular honeymoon destination.
Its 12 ultraprivate cabins interior design feature roomy hot tubs, wood-burning fireplaces and complimentary, fully stocked wet bars. Each private cabin — which range from one- to three-bedroom suites — features a wood-burning fireplace, king-sized bed, and either a private or nearby hot tub.
The Grand Del Mar, San Diego
Capturing the elegance and charm of an old-world Mediterranean estate, San Diego’s luxury Fairmont Grand Del Mar golf resort and spa welcomes guests to Southern California with breathtaking architecture, acclaimed dining and impeccable service. It’s the Golden State’s own Tuscany, complete with cypress trees lining along Roman baths.
Opulent interior design evoke the style of famed 1920s resort architect Addison Mizner; lush grounds contain fountains, courtyards and flowered terraces. Spacious rooms are decorated turn-of-the-century-style in jewel tones with gilded gold and wrought-iron accents, hand-stenciled ceilings and crystal lamps; marble baths have soaking tubs and separate showers.
Amangiri Resort, Canyon Point, Utah
While other desert resorts temper the harsh landscape with plush decor, Amangiri embraces it, quite literally: the main pool wraps around an enormous sandstone butte. The Amangiri Suite, with its desert-facing sky terrace and 60-foot-long swimming pool, is the resort’s crowning jewel.
