Situated high up in the Wilshire Grand Center, the hotel in downtown LA’s newest landmark offers exceptional views from the tallest building in the western United States. The first hotel on the U.S. West Coast to have a sky lobby, the space incorporates L.A.’s car culture via abstract representations of car lines in the internal paneling and decor.
Design elements were inspired by LA’s four ecological typologies: the beach, the flatlands, the foothills and the freeways. Because of the unique building shape, the design team studied many room conditions and designed more than 200 room types and variant conditions.
St. Regis Macau, Cotai Central, Macau, China
Designers created a luxe environment that drew inspiration from the Chinese and Portuguese influences of its Asian locale, as well as the flag’s storied New York origins.
The luxury interior design includes a delicate palette with mother of pearl, soft leather and bird’s eye maple finishes embellishes the integrated headboards, punctuated by deep aquamarine accents that pay homage to the surrounding waters.
Fairmont Quasar Istanbul, Istanbul, Turkey
The hotel blends a sense of urban culture and industrial flair with the city’s storied traditions and strong sense of place. Industrial elements inspired by the historic liquor factory are meshed with modern materials and interesting forms to create layered details in the truly unique guestrooms, and Turkish design is captured through local touches and custom-made pieces.
Armani Hotel Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
This hotel is the realization of the designer’s long-held dream to bring his sophisticated style to life in the most complete way and through the “Stay with Armani” philosophy.
Upon entry into the hotel the guest is overcome by the design goal of discreet minimal opulence. Mr. Armani’s approach and guidance was as detailed as his approach to a couture garment.
Swissôtel The Stamford, Singapore
Details were of the utmost importance in this project, as each piece was created to work as efficiently and accurately as the dials of a Swiss watch. Through each lobby, you can find interpretations of the Swiss Cross in details like stitchings, book shelves, robe hooks, door pulls, artwork and wall details.
Signiel Seoul, Seoul, South Korea
The concept for this landmark hotel’s design was “mansion in the sky.” Offering panoramic views of the cityscape from all 235 rooms, as well as the world’s highest hotel ballroom, the hotel also features an observation deck and Sky Café at the top of the building.
Korean art-inspired carpets in the guest rooms are woven Axminster carpets by Brintons. Custom handmade embroidered cherry blossoms, brightly drawn magnolia flowers, and artistic abstract patterns are found throughout.
